The Tube Line Relay

Sunday 4th May 2014

Can we get a Serpie to all 270 tube stops by foot in one day? On Sunday 4th May we're aiming to do this by means of the Tube Line Relay: a team running from the far ends of each tube line, all to meet in Central London!

This is an event organised by Serpentine members for Serpentine members, and we expect it will be a one-off. As we'll be covering 249 miles of territory in the day it will not be supported or marked and runners will be expected to take maps to find their way, and drinks/snacks etc. as they need. Each branch will have an organiser to help with route planning, but that does not mean there will necessarily be a leader on each part. So be prepared to get involved and get map reading! Remember also that you run at your own risk and there will be no road closures, so you'll need to respect traffic lights, other pedestrains, cyclists, cars, etc.

This event is open to all and is not a race - you can choose to run whatever part of the network you want and the legs will be run at the pace of the slowest. We plan for the last legs to finish at the Seymour Centre for showers, and then to retire to a pub nearby. Online sign-up is now closed. Please contact  James Edgar or Nick Barberis if you'd like to take part.

See who's signed up.

Start times will be decided later, in order for all finish at around 6pm on the day - so for example Amersham on the Metropolitan Line will likely start in the morning, with Elephant & Castle on the Bakerloo probably around 4.30pm.

Any questions? Please look at our FAQ page or send them to James Edgar or Nick Barberis

You can run as much or as little of each branch as you want; the distances below are the totals if you run from the end of the tube line to the Seymour.
