Serpie success at England Athletics 10k champs & runbritain Grand Prix
Nick Torry finished 6th at last week's England Athletics 10k championships, held as part of the Leeds Abbey Dash, and the Serpentine men's team of Nick, Will Green and Dave Morgan finished in 7th place.
Nick's 6th place and season's best time of 29:46 was enough to give him 343 points to add to his 2014 runbritain Grand Prix points total. His total of 1,183 points keeps him in second place behind winner Scott Overall, who, despite not racing in Leeds, has amassed 1,398 points with three outright wins plus a third place during the series. Serpentine's Richard Phillips also made it into the top 10 with 889 points.
The series consisted of:
- Mizuno Reading Half Marathon on March 2
- Bristol 10km on May 11
- Bupa London 10,000 on May 25
- BMC 10,000m Track Festival at Trafford on September 6
- Cardiff Half Marathon on October 5
- Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash 10k on November 16
