Arden 9 Mile Road Race (25 Jun 2006)

Third year of this well organised small race (350 limit) through the West Midlands Green Belt countryside. Mile markers throughout (nearly), marshals doing a great job and adequate water stations. Undulating and nearly traffic free on country roads with about half mile stretch of lakeside footpath. Good mix of serious club running and friendly village atmosphere, with BBQ after the run. Prize-giving within 45 mins of winner finishing. After scorching in 2004 and sweltering in 2005 (over 30 degrees C.), \'only\' 21 degrees in 2006 meant course records in nearly all categories and good PB potential. Numbers continue to grow (237 this year) and all the feedback says people will be back for more in 2007.

Arden 9 Mile Road Race (17 Jun 2007)

Friendly village-based rural race, flat/undulating with a moderate 30m hill climb in last mile. Field exceeded 300 for first time - more Midland club runners in evidence this year. Again well-organised, despite only just missing re-routing or cancellation when floods finally receded the preceding night.
